Princess Balconies and Models

So the other week me and a few of our friends were at one of our houses. I'd stuffed my camera in my bag in the morning just incase, and then later decided i had to take advantage of the princess balcony and my model like friends. Some of these were taken by our friend honor so I'll put an asterix by each one and leave her instagram at the end. (Unfortunatley the other Ruby was ill and couldn't come so that's why she's not in any of the photos :( So here are the results of a spontaneous photoshoot with my gorgeous friends.

A Few Favourites.

Hey! Jeezz, i feel like it's been ages since this page has been updated, and we are really sorry it's been so long!! I've just felt really uninspired when it's come to blogpost ideas and i had no idea what to write. But we are back, and here to stay!

So, for today's post, I'm going to ramble on about a few things i have been loving recently, and telling you why they are so amazing. Here goes..

*Real Techniques Duo-Fibre Collection*

These brushes are the softest and most luxurious of the Real Techniques brushes (excluding the new Bold Metals range - duh). They pick up the perfect amount of product if your trying to build it up rather than whack it all on a once. They big one ("Face Brush"), i use for powder, which lightly dust it on, preventing any cakeiness. The medium on ("Medium Contour Brush") is perfect for for blush as well as bronzer. Because i like to keep my makeup very neutral, the light application allows me to apply a really faint yet effective contour. The mini brush is perfect for blending out the last bits of eyeshadow and creating that seamless eyeshadow look. To conclude, three marvellous brushes.
*you can buy these in Boots but it works out a lot cheaper to buy them on Amazon.

*Fjallraven Kanken Backpack in Granite*

I recieved this for my birthday from my dad. It is a great, sturdy, and overall pretty damn cool bag. This is the "Original" size, and I can fit absolutely loads in this. I am not a light packer and often carry two cameras around with me at once so to have a backpack which is designed to maintain posture and back strength is great. The bag itself isn't heavy at all and this colour goes with everything. Love it!

*Film Cameras*

I have been absolutely loving film cameras recently, and i have discovered a photography form called lomography. I think I'll do a separate post on lomography and the lomography cameras i use, so i'll just talk about my favourite. This is an Olympus Trip 35. It takes a 35mm film and is my all time favourite thing i have ever owned. I take it everywhere I go, snapping shots of everything from people to pavements. I have used both colour film and black and white film with this. It is super easy to load and use and has very very simple settings. This camera was very kindly given to me by my neighbour, who has the most amazing collection of vintage cameras. Quite a few people are selling old ones on ebay so if you fancy looking into it, thats the way to go. I highly reccomend investing in a film camera, as there is something so special about having no idea how the photos are going to turn out.

So thanks for reading, and good luck with any upcoming exams!!

The Teens guide to a Simple Eye Look.

Hey Guys! Todays post is a little bit different and new for us, I mean we are no makeup artists but we are gonna be giving you guys some inspiration for your simple eye looks. I love reading and watching all the beauty gurus and bloggers, but I find it near to impossible to find a simple and easy eye look that doesn't use really expensive makeup or unwearable colours. But obviously there are probably many that are very much wearable but i just figured I would add to the pile! Right I'm going to try and explain this whilst making sense!

Step 1: I'm going to start by priming my eyelids with the Elf Eyelid Primer. I've started to find that my eyelids are starting to get a bit oily, so to contain the oils and make sure my eye makeup lasted. This eyelid primer has a slight sheen and colour so its a pretty base. It also cancels out all the veins and redness in my weird eyelids. So I'm just swiping some onto my eyelid and blending it in with my finger.

Step 2: Taking the Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette or any nude palette, it really doesn't have to be be big or expensive. Just go with whatever you have, there are lots available in high street drugstores. I'm taking W.O.S which is a matte, very light nude colour. The brush I am using is the Real Technique domed shadow brush. Using these products i'm brushing the eyeshadow all over the lid, with no particular way. Just swipe it so that you have an even layer between the eyelids.

Step 3: With the lid colour complete, I'm going to take a second shade from the Naked Basics Palettes called Naked 2. Using the Real Technique Duo-Fibre Eye Brush, I only used a little amount of eye shadow tapping off the excess. Using this eyeshadow I brushed the shadow into the crease. This is a super subtle crease colour so feel free to used a darker brown colour. Using the same brush and colour, I continued to blend it into the crease so that it blends into the lighter colour. Creating a ultra fine sculpt to the eye. (Fancy Language I know!)

Step 4: This step it completely up to you. I was trying out this eye look and I wanted to add something extra. So I took the Loreal Colour Riche Eyeshadow in 200 Nude (Which the beautiful Ruby bought me for christmas) This is the most buttery and pigmented colour, not to mention how beautiful it is! Its a beautiful, intense rose gold nude, with lots of shimmery sparkle. Using this eyeshadow and the Real Techniques Shading Brush I'm going to create a cat eye shaped line with this gold shadow. First I am going to from the inner corner of the eye and draw a diagonal line to where the eye ends, creating a cat eye like shape. Then drawing another diagonal line the end of the first line and joining them up, fill in this outlined shape and then once again using the Real Techniques domed shadow brush. Blend these harsher lines to create a softer smokey eye.

Step 5: Finally the last step to complete the eyeshadow, I'm taking Venus the highlighter colour and put it in my brow bone and inner corner of my eye using the Real Techniques Duo-Fibre Eye Brush.

Step 6: To add some depth, I'm using a Topshop Kohl Pencil Liner in Coal. I'm creating a very rough line on the eyelash line, it doesn't have to be neat at all. I then am going to smudge it out to create more smokiness, but only a little. I also added some to my waterline.

Step 7: Firstly I curled my eyelashes Then I applied mascara. The mascara I chose with this eye look was the Benefit They're Real, this step is completely flexible choose your favourite mascara, which is in your price range or one that you think suits this look. I chose this one because its really lengthening properties and I just really like it. I simply just added two to three coats to give my lashes length and volume.

Step 8: This step is also really flexible, I'm adding in my brow routine. So you can add in yours or completely miss this step. I'm simply just using the Maybellene Brow Drama in Medium Brown. I just combed this through my brows to fill them in and hold them in place.

So there we have it The Teens Guide to a Simple Eye Look. I hope you guys found inspiration in this and it actually made sense to you! Hope your having a good day! Comment Below your favourite Eyeshadow, I would love to hear your guys recommendations!

Whats In My Makeup Bag?

Hey Everyone! So as you may know we are a little bit addicted to makeup, you know only a little! So I figured it was about time I did a Whats in my Makeup Bag! This is part one as I am sure Ruby will show you guys Whats in her Makeup Bag! Personally I love watching and reading these types of posts so it was only suitable! I wasn't sure how to do these types of blog posts, so I thought that i would ist all the products. So all that's left do to is stop rambling and get started.

To be honest my makeup bag is filled with whatever I want it to be. It is probably the least organised makeup, there is no order or organisation whats so ever. I do regularly change it up though with my current favourite products and all my makeup essentials. My current makeup bag is this white and pink holographic one from Topshop, which I'm obsessed with. Not gonna lie I have found myself just sitting and watching it flicker in the light. Obviously Ruby helped me pick it out, I mean seriously its basically an Ariel makeup bag!

I know this looks crazy! But in my eyes it makes perfect sense. It is a lot for a "Travel Makeup Bag" but its filled with a lot of multipurpose items that I can create different looks with. I wear quite basic makeup but I love to have A LOT of range. So therefore I have ridiculous amounts in one tiny bag.

In my Makeup Bag I have:
- Benefit Porefessional
- Bourjois Happy Light Foundation
- Clinique CC Cream
- Benefit Erase Paste
- Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer
- Soap & Glory One Heck Of a Block Powder
- Soap & Glory Peach Party
- Topshop Cream Blush in Head Over Heels
- Benefit Hoola Bronser
- Benefit Mini Benetint
- Benefit Fine One One
- Maybellene Brow Drama
- Maybellene Rocket Volume Mascara
- Maybellene The Falsies Mascara
- Benefit They're Real Mascara
- Topshop Kohl Eyeliner
- Soap & Glory Supercat Eyeliner
- Loreal Colour Riche Eyeshadow in Nude 200
- Topshop Lipstick in Wicked
- Benefit Bene Balm
- Benefit Lolli Balm
- Benefit Mini Posie Balm
- Bourjois Colour Boost in Orange Sunset (Not Sure)

Finally, its over! Right so that is What is in My Travel Makeup Bag! Leave a comment below telling us your favourite Makeup item in your makeup bag! Happy Monday!

Liz Earle: The Ultimate Trio

I can barely muster the words to tell you  how much I love this skincare trio. It consists of the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser, Instant Boost Skin Tonic and the Skin Repair Light Moisturiser (combination/oily). Together they create soft, smooth and clearer skin without being harsh or really time consuming. To be truly honest, I don't use these every single morning and evening, but even just the moisturiser on it's own is great. All the Liz Earle skin care products consist of naturally active ingredients, and when is that ever bad?!

- Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser
"Cleanses and gently exfoliates for smoother, clearer skin."
This does what it says on the tin. I rub it into dry skin then wipe away with a damp (lukewarm) muslin cloth. You can feel all the gunk disappearing and is a great pick-me-up in the morning. It's great for removing make-up as well, and is perfect for taking off eye make-up. I just rub it over my (closed - duh) eyes and wipe it away. Love it.

- Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic
"Revitalises, soothes and tones for instant radiance."
This stuff basically feels like you're rubbing silk on your face. It closes the pores after they were opened and cleaned out by the cleanser. This creates a smooth canvas for your moisturiser, then make-up. I wipe this on with cotton wool pads, then pat my face dry.

- Liz Earle Skin Repair Light Moisturiser (Combination/Oily)
"Light, gentle and balancing for fresh, naturally healthy skin."
My skin loves this stuff. I have the weirdest skin that decides it wants to be dry, oily and combination all at the same. So when I found a moisturiser that actually catered to all my skin needs, I was actually speechless (well, almost). It keeps away the dryness and combats the grease, and is a great base for make-up. Perfect.

Disclaimer: Liz Earle is a bit pricey, but completely worth it in my opinion. I received these three in a gift set that came in a wash bag with two muslin cloths as a present. It's a great gift, and provides the perfect set of skincare essentials.

Thanks for having a read and I hope you enjoyed this little review! Enjoy the rest of your weekend, and we'll see you soon.

Enjoy! Xx
