A Day out in St.Mawes.

A Day out in St.Mawes.

I spent the whole of the half term, in Cornwall in a little house near St.Mawes. It was a week of food, family, beaches and no internet *shock horror* This trip was nice, even though there was no internet, but I took particular liking to the little village St.Mawes. It’s a gorgeous chocolate box seaside village with boutiques, Galleries and amazing views! It’s a bit posher, sort of like the Chelsea of Cornwall! If you catch my drift? (seaside joke)
We caught a little ferry, across the river to St.Mawes. We explored the town, down all the alleyways and drooled over the sea front houses. The sun was beaming so there were loads of children swimming and rock pooling. My favorite place was a little street along the sea front called Marine Parade, filled with the cutest boutique and a picture perfect gallery.

At the end of the street was a hotel called Hotel Tresanton, A gorgeous restaurant and hotel with amazing décor and tasty food. I ate a fancy Club Sandwich with a posh lemonade, My sister had a mozzarella and tomato pizza and my Mum and Dad had a set meal with a starter and main course.

We were going to have dessert, but then we figured we have to have Cornish ice-cream before we leave. Finally we had an Ice-cream, I had mint choc-chip of course, as its my ultimate favorite. Then we strolled onto the slipway to wait for the ferry. So there we have it, a day out in St.Mawes. But seriously, if you ever find yourself near St.Mawes go and have a look. Its worth it!

The Cutest Postcards!
Have a Nice Half-Term, Well whats left of it?

Lemon, Lime and Poppy Seed Cake.

Lemon, Lime and Poppy Seed Cake.

Hi!
I love baking. Anything from bread to tarts, to cakes and tray bakes . It's a love passed onto me from my Dad, who since my first birthday, has baked my birthday cake every year.
This recipe is super duper easy and even if you have never baked a cake in your life, it will work.

Here are the ingredients:
100g/4oz/1/2 cup Unsalted Butter
100g/4oz/1/2 cup Caster Sugar
100g/4oz/ 1 cup Self-raising Flour
1/2 tsp Baking Powder
2 Eggs
Grated Rind of 1 Lemon and 1 Lime
Juice of 1/2 a lemon
Juice of 1/2 a lime
Poppy Seeds (amount optional)

For icing:
Juice of 1/2 a lemon
Icing sugar (the right amount until you get the correct consistency)

Step One.
Pre-heat the oven to 180 degrees. If by the time you have finished with the mixture and are ready to put it in the oven, the oven has not reached 180 degrees, wait. If you put it into early the cake will not rise and will not cook properly!!

Step Two.
Measure out all your ingredients and place in a large bowl.

Step Three.
Mix your ingredients and spoon into a greased pan. Cook for 25-30 minutes.

Step Four.
Take the cake out of the oven and leave to cool. (Please excuse the suspicious looking brown marks, they are smears of burnt cake mix.)

Step Five.
Whilst your cake is cooling, make the icing. There are no specific measurements or consistency's for this icing, it is completely up to you. Make sure your cake is completely cooled before you place the icing on the cake.

Step six.
Pour your icing onto your cake, then place it on a fancy chopping board if you're feeling Tumblr-y!!
Share with your bestest Chummy and you're good to go!!

Enjoy! X

Whats On My Desk??

Whats On My Desk??

This is my desk!!! I've made my desk, so it just doesn't remind me of school work, homework, revision and tests! Spruced it up a bit with pictures, candles, blah blah blah! Here's a few pictures!

Desk - Ikea
Shelves- Ikea
Chair- Ikea

I basically put all of my favorite things on a table!
My favorite books Alexa Chung It, The Fault In Our Stars. A cute picture, and my great grandmothers glass rabbit paperweight. Talking of Rabbits, my gorgeous rabbit light! By the way, that is NOT my laptop *I wish*, It's my dads! I'm in love with these candles in floral bowls from Ikea! And of course the infamous Ikea Skurar pots to store my pens, pencils and glue sticks and all that Jazz! I used these simple white magazine files and white boxes to store my school books and sheets. I placed my favorite moleskin notebooks which my dad gave me on there for extra snazzyness. I also re-used a Starbucks drinks bottles, because its damn adorable!
I've also placed a few desk beauty essentials in a decorative glass plate.
Here are my Desk Essentials:
-Soap & Glory Hand Food
-Lush Mint Julips Lip Scrub
-Carmex Cherry Lip Balm
-Carmex Mint Lip Balm
-Lush Charity Pot
-Gucci Sample Perfume

Above my desk, I have these shelves with four compartments, where I put white boxes and these pictures my Mom created.

My Favorite part of my desk is the magnetic board, which I've placed magazine cut-outs, school papers, pictures and all that randomness!

I've used it as a inspiration board and a reminder board. It's got my women crushes Cara Delevingne, Emma Stone and Zoe Deschanel! Makeup Inspiration and my favourite picture of me, Ruby and Tanya Burr!!!!!!!!

Enjoy!

Our Revision Tips!

Our Revision Tips!

Hi!
Only 39 school days until the beginning of the summer holidays, yay! But, before the six heavenly weeks of sleeping and eating, we have the dreaded End of Year Exams *screams in terror*. Exams mean revision, and revision isn't easy to master. But, we have put our heads together and come up with some *hopefully* useful tips to help!

Step One.
Make sure you have all the stuff your going to need together and ready. You don't want to have to keep getting up and down to get things, this will distract (and annoy!) you.

Step Two.
Once you've got our stuff ready, grab yourself a snack before every revision session. I prefer to have a healthy snack like fruit and nuts because it gives me a good burst of energy, but won't give me a sugar high like chocolate will. Most importantly, DRINK WATER!!! You have to make sure you stay hydrated to avoid headaches and the like, plus, water is great for your skin, so the more you drink, the better your skin will look and feel!

Step Three.
After you have had your snack, change into something comfortable, but not your pyjamas because that will make you feel really sleepy!! I opted for a really old pair of tracksuit bottoms (to hideous to show), one of my dad's jumpers and fluffy socks.

Step Four.
Turn off your phone/iPod/electronics so you don't feel tempted to check them or watch YouTube videos *guilty face*.

Step Five.
Write a revision timetable. This will insure that you get a consistent amount of revision done. Don't cram it full, you don't want to push yourself to far and then get really panicky and stressed. Everyone gets a little bit stressed before exams (we are only humans!)but you don't want to over work yourself.

Step Six.
Read through the years books. I know this sounds boring, but it really does jog your memory. Also, look up old SATS papers online which will give you an idea of what type of questions might pop up.

Step Seven.
I like to write revision cards, which are little cards with bits of information on them. Reading them before you go to sleep helps you memorise them. Make them as colourful and as bright as you want!

I hope these tips help and good luck with your exams!

Enjoy! X

Lazy Days.

Lazy Days.

Hi!
Today is Sunday, so of course that means tomorrow is the dreaded Monday! So I figured what's the harm of doing nothing today. And trust me, I'm amazing at doing nothing. So I thought to not make myself feel so guilty, let's write a blog post about it! And decided to share with you my lazy day tips.

Step One.
Get cozy, the best way to relax is to grab a onesie, your favorite pyjamas and a snug pair of socks. It makes me feel cozy and warm. Here I'm wearing my favorite light pink frilly socks.

Step Two.
Set the mood. Light your favorite candles, to create a warm homely feel. Use scented candles to fill the room with your desired scent or just any candle will do, of course! Here I'm using my favorite candles, which Ruby got me from America. Its the Bath and Body Works Leaves Candles, it smells like warm spices!! (not at all like leaves!) And a pretty ikea candle, scented like snowdrops.

Step Three.
Choose your favorite book, magazine or whatever you enjoy to read. Reading is relaxing and inspiring on your day of doing nothing. I chose my favorite magazines, Elle and a random Instyle and my treasured Bobbi Brown Makeup Manual!

Step Four.
If your in the mood apply your lazy day makeup, but if your like me don't bother! I chose a simply, natural and light makeup look using:
-Real Techniques Multi-task Brush
-Real Techniques Expert Face Brush
-Elf Blush in Twinkle Pink
-Maybellene Fit Me Foundation Stick
-Carmex Cherry Lip Pot
-Maybellene Mega Plush Mascara
-Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer

Step Five.
Pamper Yourself. Exfoliate, wash, cleanse, apply, do whatever you need to! I recommend pore strips, a thick body butter and a lip scrub. In my Opinion this is the best part of a lazy day to indulge yourself!

Step Six.
Treat Yourself. Every lazy day is nothing without your indulgent treats, that make think "i shouldn't have eaten that last square of galaxy." I chose two of my favorites ice-cream and maoams! Yummmm!!!! I mean who can live without Ben & Jerrys, I know I can't!

Step Seven.
Watch your favorite films, TV programmes, Youtube Videos and listen to your favorite music. It's fun and great for chilling out, of cource you have to watch a rubbish romantic comedy and rubbish chickflicks! I'm currently addicted to Gossip Girl, but I'm sad cause I'm on the last series! *Nooooooo I scream to myself* And of course I listened to Bastille, i mean deerrhhhhhh! And the dramatic Made In Chelsea, the greatest show ever!

Step Eight.
Have a Lush Bath! We all know the hype around Lush Bath Bombs and I'm completely on that band wagon! They are awesome!! I decided to go for Tisty Tosty a very luxurious bath bomb with the scent of sweet roses absolute perfection! <3

There we have it, my seven steps to the perfect lazy day! I hope yours is indulgent, relaxing and well, BRILLIANT!
 Enjoy X
